We’ve put together a little stream of matwork exercises to support your self-directed practice at home. You’ll have Chantel’s video as a visual to guide you.

Practice this series with us at least 3 times a week, and each month we will add on exercises so you can gradually increase your Pilates practice from 5 minutes to 10 minutes to 15 minutes and so on. This month we added on ‘Rolling’ so feel free to visit https://www.alignedforlife.com.au/resource/rolling/ for preparation exercises and cues that will help you ‘roll’ beautifully and safely.

By the end of the year you will be able to do a full workout using exercises from Joseph Pilates’ original book ‘Return to Life Through Contrology’.

“Make up your mind that you will perform your Contrology (we know this as Pilates) exercises 10 minutes without fail. Amazingly enough, once you travel on this Contrology “Road to Health” you will subconsciously lengthen your trips on it from ten to twenty or more minutes before you even realise it. Why? The answer is simple: The exercises have stirred your sluggish circulation into action and to performing its duty more effectively in the manner of discharging through the bloodstream the accumulation of fatigue – products created by muscular and mental activities. Your brain clears and your will power functions.” Joseph Pilates.

The difference between a good movement experience and real, lasting change often comes down to two things: the right equipment in the right hands, and an instructor who genuinely understands the body in front of them. At Aligned for Life, that combination has been at the heart of everything we do for over 25 years. This isn't a fitness trend for us. It's our life's work.
